Dr. Nasim Zarkesh, aka "Dr. Z", is a board-certified pediatric dentist who has years of experience treating pediatric patients with a wide variety of dental and medical problems. After practicing for several years as an associate in Las Vegas and Los Angeles, Dr. Z is beyond excited to take on the role of a practice owner and to bring all the positive aspects she has learned throughout the years to her new practice. She believes this will allow her to treat and care for every child with the highest level of care.
Dr. Z enjoys serving the underserved communities and participating in dental mission trips and continuing education activities. One of her most memorable mission trips was to Honduras where she treated kids with a wide variety of dental needs, many of whom had never seen a dentist in their lives.
She also attends several pediatric dental conferences every year where she learns about the latest technologies and methodologies in dentistry.
Dr. Z is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, California Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and California Dental Society.
Her first name, Nasim, means Breeze in Farsi and that's where the inspiration for the office name came from.
When she is not working, Dr. Z loves to travel, be active, and spend time with family and friends. Dr. Z is an avid snowboarder and loves spending time on the slopes. She has snowboarded around the world, and enjoys discovering new mountains. Her favorite destinations are ski resorts, beaches, and challenging hiking trails.
"I feel blessed and humbled to be able to take care of the pediatric patients on a daily basis. I believe children bring the greatest joy to our lives, and their purity and innocence adds so much positive energy to our world. My biggest joy is to be able to change an anxious kid's perspective about dentistry to a positive, fun, and less stressful experience in my office."

Dr. Paulina Nguyen is a board-certified pediatric dentist who grew up in Monterey Bay, CA and completed her undergraduate studies at UCLA and dental school at USC. She always has had a passion for working with children and has traveled abroad including Thailand, Vietnam, and Mexico for dental mission trips. Following dental school, she worked in a pediatric dental office and decided to continue her training by completing a pediatric dental residency through NYU Langone in Hawaii. Her post-doctoral training in Hawaii enabled her to serve children across four different Hawaiian Islands while advancing her training in general anesthesia, oral sedation, orthodontics, and special needs patients. She returns to southern California where she aims to not only provide quality dental care for infants, children and adolescents, but also create long lasting positive dental experiences from a young age.
In her free time, Dr. Paulina loves to spend time with her family and husband. She loves trying new restaurants, traveling, drinking coffee, and running by the beach. During basketball season, you can find her glued to the TV or in the Staples Center cheering for the LA Lakers! Dr. Paulina is also fluent in three languages: English, Vietnamese, and Spanish. She hopes to become fluent in more languages and learn more about other cultures as she explores and travels around the world in the future. Although Dr. Paulina is a dentist, she is a child at heart and looks forward to learning the latest Tik Tok trends and dance moves from her pediatric patients!

Dr. Fung was inspired by her father, a pediatrician, to develop a compassionate and thoughtful approach to care. As a child, like many others, she searched for a connection with her dentist that would ease her anxiety. That changed when she met a pediatric dentist who was kind, gentle, and patient—creating positive memories that stayed with her into adulthood. This pivotal experience inspired her to pursue pediatric dentistry and provide the same comfort to her own patients.
With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Fung has cared for many wonderful children and families. She was also the owner of Manhattan Beach Pediatric Dentistry before recently choosing to join our practice to focus on what she loves most: treating patients and building meaningful connections, without the demands of managing a business.
Her goal is to ensure every patient feels safe, heard, and respected. She emphasizes prevention, education, and creating positive dental experiences that lead to a lifetime of healthy, happy smiles.
